Welcome to the Beta launch of Valiants: Arena. This Beta is packed with exciting new features that not only introduce fresh gameplay elements but also redefine your experience in Valoria. Here’s an in-depth look at everything you can expect.
Valiants are the heart of your team, serving as your battle companions and a reflection of your playstyle. These unique creatures excel through their skill cards, elemental affinities, and the ability to equip powerful accessories. At the start of the Valiants: Arena Beta there will be more than 15 unique Valiants to choose from, with more joining soon.
Valiants draw power from their elemental affinities, which influence their combat roles and interactions with other elements. Each Valiant has a primary and secondary element, chosen from six options: Fire, Water, Grass, Earth, Ice and Wind. The elemental system is designed to reward strategic planning by introducing strengths and weaknesses for each element.
These interactions determine whether an attack is Super Critical, Critical, Normal, or Weak, significantly impacting damage output. Players must carefully consider these dynamics when building their teams and selecting skills.
Valiants’ performance is defined by five core stats:
Attack: Determines the amount of damage a skill can inflict on opponents.
Defense: Reduces the damage received from attacks.
Speed: Influences the turn order in battle, allowing faster Valiants to act first.
Vitality: Indicates the total damage a Valiant can withstand before being defeated. This stat calculates HP.
Spirit: Determines how many skills a Valiant can use in battle, calculated as SP.
Each Valiant can equip up to two items, which enhance their main stats: Speed, Attack, and Defense. These items provide critical advantages in combat, allowing players to optimize their team for specific strategies.
In addition, each Valiant can equip up to four skill cards, obtained through packs, in-game stores, or gameplay rewards. Skill cards introduce abilities that carry elemental affinities, enabling synergies that capitalize on strengths or exploit opponent weaknesses.
For the Beta phase, all skills will be available for testing. This unrestricted access allows players to experiment with a wide range of combinations and discover unique team synergies.
During battles, Valiants can experience volatile effects, which are temporary and influence their performance. Only two volatile effects can be active at the same time. If a third is applied, the oldest effect will be replaced. These effects are removed when the affected Valiant is switched out of combat.
On the other hand, conditions are persistent effects that remain active throughout the battle, impacting the Valiants continuously. However, only one condition can be active at a time. If a new condition is introduced, it will override the previous one. Unlike volatile effects, conditions persist even if the affected Valiant is swapped out.
Tamers play a pivotal role in every team, each consisting of four Valiants and a single Tamer. Tamer skins are customizable, visual representations of the trainers within the game. Beyond aesthetics, these skins come with specific abilities that directly impact gameplay. Displayed as 2D artwork, these skins appear prominently when a Valiant attacks or uses a special skill.
Every Tamer skin includes a unique skill that provides passive benefits to the team, shaping the overall strategy and enhancing the team's effectiveness in battle.
The Stage System introduces a dynamic and interactive gameplay mechanic, dividing battles into distinct phases with unique effects that influence all participating Valiants. Each stage lasts for three turns, except for the final stage, which persists indefinitely until the battle concludes.
Stages are categorized into three thematic types, each impacting gameplay differently. Aggressive stages amplify offensive strategies, encouraging bold and high-damage actions. Defensive stages prioritize protection, healing, and endurance, promoting strategies focused on survival and attrition. Chaotic stages introduce unpredictable elements that disrupt conventional tactics, challenging players to adapt quickly to sudden battlefield changes.
The Beta introduces a competitive leaderboard system where players can participate in ranked matches. Each victory or loss affects their position through an Elo Rating System. Rewards will be given to top players at regular intervals, with further details on timing and prizes to be revealed.
This Beta phase is only the beginning. Over the coming months, we’ll introduce even more features, updates, and enhancements to ensure your experience in Valoria continues to evolve.
